Queue sign
Print or display a QR code so queuers can join a queue from their phone.
The queue sign is how queuers find your queue. They see the sign, scan the QR code with their phone camera, and they’re in line. No app install, no account needed.
- Printed sign. Static paper or vinyl with the QR code printed on it.
- Digital kiosk. A tablet showing the QR code on-screen, with the option to also take a manual number for queuers without a phone. See kiosk.
Most stores use both: a couple of printed signs at common entry points plus a kiosk at the service desk for fallback.
Getting the QR code
Section titled “Getting the QR code”Each queue and each group has its own unique QR code. To download it:
- Open the queue (or group) in Flowby admin.
- Find the QR code section.
- Download the image. It’s high-resolution, fine for any printed size.
The same place also lists the kiosk URL if you want to point a tablet at it instead.
Printing tips
Section titled “Printing tips”- Print large. A QR code that’s easy to scan from arm’s length is better than a tiny one queuers have to lean in for. Aim for at least 10×10 cm in retail.
- Add a short instruction above the code, e.g. “Scan to join the queue”. Queuers who haven’t used Flowby before need that nudge.
- Place it at eye level where queuers naturally arrive, by the door, at the deli counter, by the workshop drop-off, etc.
- More than one sign is fine: they all point at the same queue (or group), so there’s no risk of fragmenting the queue.
