Kiosk

Set up a tablet kiosk so queuers can scan or take a manual number on-site.

The kiosk is a tablet-mounted version of the queue sign. Instead of just a printed QR code, a tablet running the kiosk URL shows the QR code on screen and a button to take a manual queue number for queuers who don’t want to use their phone.

Use it as a fallback for queuers without phones, or in stores where a tablet by the entrance is more visible than a printed sign.

Each queue and each group has its own kiosk URL. Find it inside the queue (or group) page in Flowby admin, in the same place as the QR code.

  1. Open the Queue kiosk URL in Safari on the iPad.

  2. Tap the Share icon (square with up-arrow).

  3. Choose Add to Home Screen. iOS creates a Flowby icon on the home screen.

  4. Tap that icon. It launches the kiosk in full-screen mode (no Safari address bar). This is the only way to fully hide the browser chrome on iOS.

  • Per-queue kiosk: one queue, one tablet. Queuers can scan or take a manual number for that specific queue.
  • Per-group kiosk: the group’s kiosk URL shows all queues in the group on screen. The queuer taps which they want, then can scan or take a manual number.
  • Printer kiosk: pair the iPad with a Star printer to actually print paper tickets. See printer.
