Manual queue number

Hand a queuer a manual number when they can't or won't use a phone.

Not every queuer has a smartphone, has the patience to scan a QR code, or wants to. Manual queue numbers keep these queuers in the same line as everyone else. They take a number, remember it, and listen for it being called.

Manual and digital numbers share the queue order. A manual queuer at position 3 is served before a digital queuer at position 4, regardless of how each one joined.

Staff-issued. From the store’s queue view, click the Manual number button. A new number is generated; tell the queuer the number verbally. Best when staff are at the entrance or service desk and can hand out numbers as people walk in.

Self-service via kiosk. If a kiosk is set up, the queuer presses the manual-number button on the tablet themselves. They take the number, remember it, and step away. Best when the entrance is busy and you don’t want a staff member tied up handing out numbers.

A combined kiosk with the printer accessory prints an actual paper ticket. The most accessible variant for queuers who would otherwise struggle to remember a number.

The queue view flags manual numbers visually so staff know to call out the number when it’s that queuer’s turn, rather than waiting for someone to look up from their phone.
